History
People with the faith of God, often believe that the Almighty has already decided on what the Journey of a being comprises of. One such decision made by The God is the story of Sri. A. Thayalan, a humble builder from Chennai.
A trip to Sri Angalaparameshwari Amman Temple, Melmalaiyanur, played a pivotal role in the devotional journey of not just Sri. Thayalan, but his better-half Smt.SaradhaThayalan and their off-springsVishnuThayalanandSai Saran. This earnest family encountered a wise saint, who was very sure about Sri. Thayalan building a worship monument for The Great Guru Sai Baba. After stricken by confusion and apprehensions Sri. Thayalan and his loved ones paid little attention to the instinctive words of the Godly Man.
In 2013, a majestic Peepal tree which is considered one of the subtle landmarks in Ramapuram, held the picture of Sai Baba beneath its’ shades with large number of the saviour’s devotees conducting Poojas and sevas for him. As the gathering grew far and wide, the happenings gradually shifted to a Lord Vinayagar temple placed adjacent to this magnificent tree. While this was proceeding smoothly, some of the ardent devotees wanted a unique and sole site for their Baba, which made them begin a search for an accountable Builder with a remarkable goodwill to make this wish a reality.Their search came to an end, when they found Sri. Thayalanperfectly fitting their bill.
When they approached Sri. Thayalan, he was reminded of the words spoken by The Great Saint to him at Melmalaiyanur. The Philanthropist in Sri. Thayalan promised the visitors that he will help providing maximum funds needed to build the temple and instructed them to begin their search for a sophisticated and beautiful place. Sri. Thayalanset the construction of this prestigious temple his mission, and started hunting for the right spot, to establish the same. The Search didn’t yield much results to both Sri. Thayalan and the followers of Baba. This is when, he noticed, that the Peepal tree in which once Baba was worshipped by his devotees fell a few meters from his 2,800 sq.ft land in Ramapuram, which was his first property to be bought. A wave of miracle hit Mr.Thayalanand he resolved with gratitude that the temple will be built on his own soil. With the family agreeing gracefully to confer their property to this devotional cause, a place was lustrated as the holy Sai Baba’s home.
Despite of a cyclone in 2015, hitting Ramapuramseverely, Sri. Thayalan took it as a blessing from above, and completed the temple’s registration processes victoriously by 2016. They decided that the name of the sacred trust will be Sri Vaidyanatha Sai Baba. The Supreme Guru himself, gave his approval to build this glorious abode, in the form of an old man, who smiled at them angelically and raised both his hands like he immensely blessed them, when they were on their way to get the proceedings done in the Registrar office..
After, holding a heavenly Bhoomi Pooja on the 12th of February 2016, the construction proceeded on a brisk pace. An idol of the eternal saviour in plaster of Paris, contributed by one of the devotees was placed in front of the temple, even before the construction was complete, owing to the arrival of the visitors on the premises out of their love and dedication for Baba. Looking at the enormous mass gathered around on Thursdays to get a glimpse of their Guru and leaving empty-handed, Sri. Thayalan arranged for prasadamto be prepared and distributed to the devotees.
The fine completion of the divine structure, paved way for a resplendent Kumbabishekam. The Grand event took place in-between 7:30 am and 9:00 am of the breezy morning of the 9th of February 2017. Following the advent of Sri Vaidyanatha Sai Baba to the Ramapuram site on the 7th of February in a salient procession, with children and devotees following in a manner of glory, dressed up like Lord Muruga, Lord Krishna, The Holy Sai Baba and much more. Baba, arriving on a bullock cart, he was welcomed by a string of orchestrated classical music from antique instruments and the traditional dances like kolattam and Rama Nadanam and Sai bhajans. The consistent chanting and praying of the followers in seeing the coming of their Baba made the roads look like the gateways of Paadalpetrasthalams.
The Kumbabishekamwas aced by well-known public figures and reputed personalities. The guests decorated the Palatial place with their presence.
The Annadhanam, which was served not just to fulfil the hunger but also the hearts of the attendees, continued to happen with pomp and gaiety for 4 consecutive days.
